Cody and Rachel’s gorgeous fall Alabama wedding was a day to remember. The colors, their excitement, the gorgeous venue, all the love, and their sweet family and friends all there to celebrate their big day made it so wonderful. Read a little bit about their love story below.
How they met:
Cody and I met the summer of 2013 while working at Woods and Water. I was a cashier and he worked at the gun counter. I thought he was super cute from the first time I saw him and I even referred to him as the “hot guy at the gun counter” to my friends. At work I would literally try to find any excuse to go back to the gun counter and talk to him. I would take gun tickets back to the counter, fold t-shirts, stock shelves, just literally whatever. Then one night when we were leaving Woods & Water I was the car behind him at a red light when he suddenly backed his truck into my brand new car. We pulled over into and he apologized over and over again for hitting my car. I tried to play it cool knowing if I called the police the chances of him asking me out were slim to none. He kept apologizing and finally said he would make it up to me and would take me anywhere I wanted to go for lunch. I can still remember getting back in my car and calling my friends and saying “OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH! THE HOT GUY AT THE GUN COUNTER JUST HIT MY CAR AND NOW HE’S TAKING ME TO LUNCH”. The excitement was too real. A few days later he took me to lunch to my favorite place (Chick Fil A) and he has been stuck with me ever since.
How he proposed:
Cody proposed to me on October 28th 2017 in Greensboro, AL one day before our 4 year anniversary . He had made me believe for two months prior we were going to a surprise birthday for his mom on that day. He surprised me on his hunting land with a beautiful set up with sunflowers, candles, and a beautiful arbor! Then after what was supposed to be a birthday party was actually a engagement party with both of our families!!!
Her favorite thing about their relationship and things they love to do:
I love how we make the most of our time together. Shift work can suck sometimes, especially me working 7p-7a and him working days. Even with that schedule we just make the most and always have a wonderful time together even if that means forcing him to binge watch Harry Potter with me. We don’t need a fancy travel destination or a fun new restaurant to have a good time! He’s just my bestfriend! We love going on walks with our dog Nelli, going hunting together (even though I’m no good and not quiet), we love all sporting events, traveling, and sometimes just being lazy together. Our schedules are so crazy so anytime we get to spend together we make the most of it!
Thank you, Cody and Rachel for allowing us to capture the biggest part of your love story. Congratulations you two!
